scopro con orrore e fastidio che si trattava di un semplice "pesce d'aprile" [SM=g27979]

April 2nd

So, what's been going on? I went away for a day, anything happen? Ok, ok, as much as I feel I shouldn't have to tell you this, IT WAS A JOKE! HOW COULD YOU MISS IT!?!?
All of it was made up, except for most of the song titles, but I'll get to that in a moment. The Cure ARE NOT releasing an album called Winter, they ARE NOT playing small theatres, and they absolutely ARE NOT playing multiple nights in each city. All fake. Not happening.

And while those song titles ARE NOT for the new album, most of them are real. Let me explain:

Quitting Again & Stay are totally fake. I made them up. Forget them.

Winter is the title of an old Cure track that MIGHT be included on the Three Imaginary Boys bonus disc. You can read more about it here (Dec. 23rd update) and in this Record Collector article.

Everything Forever and Heavy World are two of the "missing songs" from the Bloodflowers sessions.

Don't Believe A Word is the Thin Lizzy song that the band played at many of the 2002 shows. It was also a warning about the article. : )

There's a Planet In My Kitchen was the title of a song Robert wrote while in Siouxsie and the Banshees. You can find it on the Dear Prudence 12" single.

The rest were found by accident while searching the ASCAP database. Take a look at it and you'll see that Another Happy Birthday (Instrumental) and Hope (Instrumental) are credited to Robert. No Heat...(Instrumental) is credited to Robert and Simon. Confessions of a Thug and Excuse Me? are credited to Perry, Jason, Simon, Roger and Robert. And there's another one that I didn't use called Peachellymelba (Instrumental) that is also credited to Robert. These ARE NOT for the new album though. Probably just demos, alternate titles, or missing songs, but still very interesting.

So I hope that clears it all up. And for those of you who are STILL pissed off about it, I think Sgt. Hulka said it best in Stripes - "Lighten up Frances".
